Submit the permit application online through the iBuild portal or in person at the BSRD office. Include the signed contract, product NOA documentation, roof plan drawings, and contractor license information.
The Building Department reviews the application and drawings to confirm code compliance. For straightforward re-roofing projects, many applications qualify for same-day or next-day express review.
Once approved, the permit is issued and must be posted at the job site before work begins. The permit number and inspection schedule become active in the county system.
Miami-Dade requires multiple inspections: a dry-in inspection (after underlayment) and a final inspection (after roof completion). Some projects may require a structural tie-down inspection. Inspections must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
