Acclaimed Roofing vs Extreme Roofing: Honest Miami Comparison 2026

Why This Comparison Exists

If you are reading this, you probably got a quote from Acclaimed Roofing and another from us, or you are trying to decide who to call first. I respect Acclaimed. They have been in Miami a long time, they pull real permits, and they install real products. This is not a hit piece.

It is also not a pretend-neutral article where I bury a sales pitch at the end. I own Extreme Roofing. I have been installing roofs in Miami-Dade since 2004. I am going to tell you the honest differences between our two companies so you can make the right call for your project, whether that call is us, them, or a third option entirely.

The short version: we go deeper on warranty, bigger on project range, and faster on response time. They are generally priced slightly lower on small shingle jobs because their overhead is lower.

Where Acclaimed Roofing Is the Right Call

Let me start with the honest answer to when you should probably pick them instead of us.

Small straightforward shingle replacements under $15,000. Acclaimed runs efficient shingle crews. If your project is a simple 1,800 square foot shingle tear-off with no structural issues, no HOA complications, and no coastal salt exposure, you will likely get a slightly lower price from them. We are not the cheapest contractor in Miami for basic shingle work, and we will not pretend to be.

You only need a 5-year workmanship warranty. Our 10-year warranty is one of the longest in Miami, and it reflects the price we charge. If you are selling the home within 5 years or you are price-sensitive, a 5-year warranty from them is still a real warranty. It just covers fewer years.

You want a company with one clear specialty. Acclaimed focuses on residential re-roofs. If that focus matters to you, they fit. We do residential, commercial flat roofs, luxury tile installations, waterproofing, historic restorations, and insurance claims work. The tradeoff is that we are less focused, but we can handle more scope on a single property.

Where Extreme Roofing Is the Right Call

Luxury or complex residential. If you are in Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Bal Harbour, or any HOA-controlled neighborhood where the board has opinions about tile color and profile, we do this work every week. We have the relationships with the architectural boards, we know the historic preservation requirements, and we have installed enough Ludowici, Entegra, and Hanson tile that we can spot a substitution from across the yard. Acclaimed does some of this work but not at our volume.

Commercial or multi-family. We run a full commercial division. TPO, modified bitumen, built-up, coatings, waterproofing, and roof restorations on warehouses, office buildings, hotels, and condo associations. Acclaimed does some commercial but mostly stays on the residential side.

Insurance claim work. Florida insurance is complicated in 2026. SB 4-D changed the rules, the 25% rule still applies to pre-2009 roofs, and adjusters fight harder than they used to. We have handled thousands of insurance claims since 2004 and we document work to the specific standards that minimize claim disputes. We do not recommend a roofer who does not do this work regularly for insurance claims.

You want a 10-year workmanship warranty. This one is straightforward. We warranty our labor for 10 years. Most Miami contractors offer 1 to 5. It is the strongest signal of how confident we are in our crews.

You need fast response. On initial estimates we get out in 24 hours for most jobs, same day for storm damage. On emergency repairs we have a crew on-site within 2 to 4 hours. That speed costs money to maintain and we price it into our quotes.

You want in-house financing. We built our own in-house financing program in 2025 for homeowners who do not qualify for traditional third-party lenders or do not want to pay the 29% APR that most roofing finance companies charge. Our program runs 9.9% to 14.9% depending on credit tier. Acclaimed offers third-party financing through the standard Synchrony and GreenSky programs.

What I Tell My Own Family

When my cousin in Westchester was shopping for a roofer last year, I told him exactly this: get three quotes. One from us. One from Acclaimed or another mid-tier local contractor. And one from whoever is the cheapest name on Google that has at least a 4.5-star rating and a valid state license.

Compare the three quotes line by line:

 • Are they tearing off to bare deck or overlaying?
 • What NOA numbers are on the quote?
 • What is the underlayment brand and model?
 • What is the fastener schedule?
 • What is the workmanship warranty length and what does it cover?
 • Is the deposit 10%, 25%, or 50%?

If you get three quotes and one is 30% cheaper than the others, there is something missing from that quote. Usually it is tear-off, or the underlayment, or the permit pull. Ask the cheap contractor what is missing.

If two quotes are within 10% of each other and one has a materially better warranty or certification, pick that one. The warranty difference is worth real money over the life of the roof.

That is what I told my cousin. He picked us for the tile work and a different contractor for a rental property shingle job. Both projects came out fine.

Certifications Matter in 2026

GAF Master Elite is not a marketing badge. It is a specific certification that requires:

 • Minimum 7 years in business as a GAF-certified contractor
 • Documented annual installation volume
 • Clean customer complaint record with the BBB
 • Verified insurance and bonding
 • Annual training requirements for all installers
 • Less than 2% of US roofers hold it

Our GAF Master Elite status lets us extend the GAF Golden Pledge warranty, which is a 25-year non-prorated transferable warranty backed by the manufacturer. Acclaimed is GAF Certified, which allows the standard System Plus warranty at 10 years. That is a real difference in long-term protection.

Miami-Dade Certification and Florida State License are both required baselines for anyone working HVHZ roofing. Both companies have them.

Pricing Reality

I am not going to pretend we are cheaper than Acclaimed on small shingle jobs. We are usually 5 to 15% higher on those. The reason is overhead: larger crews, full commercial division, same-day response capability, in-house financing administration, and the Master Elite certification renewal fees.

On luxury tile, commercial projects, and insurance work, we are often price-competitive or cheaper than Acclaimed because we do so much of this work that our material purchasing power is better and our labor efficiency is higher.

If your project is a straightforward shingle re-roof and price is your top priority, shop both of us and pick the better quote. If your project is tile, commercial, insurance-driven, or complex, get both quotes and compare the line items, not just the totals.

How to Verify Any Miami Roofer

Do not take my word for anything in this post. Verify it yourself:

Pull the contractor's state license at myfloridalicense.com and confirm it is active and unblemished

Check Miami-Dade certification at miamidade.gov under Building and Neighborhood Compliance

Search the company name at bbb.org/south-east-florida for rating and complaint history

Ask for three references from jobs completed 2 to 5 years ago, not just last month

Drive by two of those reference projects in person and look at the roof

Ask for proof of current general liability and workers compensation insurance

Any Miami roofer who hesitates on any of those six items is not the right choice. That applies to us, to Acclaimed, and to anyone else quoting your job.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Acclaimed Roofing a good roofing company in Miami?

Yes. Acclaimed Roofing is a licensed Miami-Dade certified roofer with an A rating at the BBB and a decade-plus track record. They are a solid choice for straightforward residential shingle re-roofs under $35,000. For luxury tile, commercial, or insurance-driven work, compare them against contractors with GAF Master Elite certification and longer workmanship warranties.

How do I compare roofing companies in Miami?

Compare six things: active Florida state license, Miami-Dade certification, BBB rating, manufacturer certification level (GAF Master Elite is the highest), workmanship warranty length, and at least three references from projects completed 2 to 5 years ago. Quotes should be compared line by line, not just on total price.

What is the best workmanship warranty for a Miami roof?

The best workmanship warranties from reputable Miami roofers run 10 years. Most contractors offer 1 to 5 years. The manufacturer material warranty (25 to 50 years depending on product) is separate and covers defects in the roofing material itself. Always ask whether the workmanship warranty is transferable if you sell the home.

How much should I pay for a roof in Miami in 2026?

A typical 2,000 square foot Miami re-roof costs $14,000 to $22,000 for impact-resistant shingles, $24,000 to $40,000 for standing seam metal, and $28,000 to $46,000 for clay or concrete tile. Prices vary by neighborhood, HOA requirements, and whether coastal aluminum is needed. Always get three quotes and compare them line by line.

What does GAF Master Elite mean and why does it matter?

GAF Master Elite is the highest certification GAF offers to roofing contractors, held by less than 2% of US roofers. It requires 7 plus years as a GAF-certified contractor, documented annual volume, clean complaint history, verified insurance, and ongoing training. Master Elite contractors can extend the GAF Golden Pledge warranty, a 25-year non-prorated transferable manufacturer warranty.
